Rainy day Powell's Bookstore | Portland Family Documentary

Portland is known for its cloudy, rainy days, but enter Powell's Books and you are immediately enveloped in color, the sounds of pages being turned, of giggles as joke books are read and a sense of happiness. I enjoyed a lunch time break with a family who's details are imbedded in their love to read. We walked around the children's section, taking in historical and fiction picture books, pointing out old favorites as well as new. The kids got lost in the chapter books, pulling one after another off the shelf, sitting on the floor, tip-toeing to the next shelf to see what magic was hiding there, and sharing aloud.
