Amy Thelen a perfectionist in her craft, and thus waits for unexpected moments which showcase the intricacies of family life.
Her documentary approach allows for authentic and genuine emotions to shine. Amy has been a professional photographer since 2015, but her work goes back 20 years when she first used her friend’s Nikon FM3A film camera while traveling to England and Ireland.
With a masters in education, Amy spent years working with children and families of varying configurations, utilizing her natural empathy, and honing her intuition and communication skills. Amy is adept at helping the most wary of children (and adults) feel comfortable and natural.
Amy has two rad kids and an equally cool husband. If she could be a professional traveler, she would in a heartbeat. Her family makes an effort to go abroad once a year to experience different cultures, foods, architecture, and time with one another with no obligations.
A baker of sourdough, brewer of kombucha, and drinker of locally roasted coffee, she appreciates the simple and delicious things in Portland, Oregon.
